#RPGaDAY2026 Day 29 ~ Labour

Creating RPG characters can be a labor of love. How often do you get to create a human being outside of the conventional manner, anyhow? For some systems, labor barely applies, as it is so easy to create a character. For others, the term is quite apt, as it might take a couple hours of intense effort.

Just like any labor, the more you do it and the more familiar you become with it, the faster it goes and the better you are at it. It becomes automatic, and you can get to the flow and not pay attention to rules and mathematical formulas and focus more on creating somebody unique.

Of course, no character concept ever survives actual play, so who they finally become is always up for grabs, but we’ve talked about that before.
